Richard Lopez is a patriotic and passionate American who was raised in a military family. He learned about patriotism from his father who was a World War II veteran, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star Medal recipient. In the 1980s, he founded Children's Second Chance, an organization to promote anti-drug, anti-violence, anti-terrorism, and anti-gang activity. He devoted much of his time and energy teaching many children essential techniques to avoid abduction. After the tragedies of 9/11 occurred, Richard realized he needed to do something for his country in addition to helping our youth. He designed a commemorative “9/11 car” that is finely illustrated and airbrushed on all sides depicting the events of September 11, 2001. Richard Lopez does not want people to forget 9/11. His greatest aspiration is to build two more memorials — one a touring memorial and the other a museum. These memorials will remind America of God, country, and freedom.

He started National 9/11 Memorial on Wheels, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, whose mission is to honor and publicize those who served in the police, fire, and military services and those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

He dedicates his time to ensure National 9/11 Memorial on Wheels is an inspiration at sacred places and events all across America. Bringing awareness of the sacrifices our soldiers and their families make reminds us all that freedom is not free.

A native of Tucson, Arizona where he and his wife reside, Richard Lopez hopes to pass on the legacy of patriotism to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
